Fitting problem

I'm beginning to knit the Sunday Best Cardigan found at All Free Knitting. The final length is 24". I'm tall, my waist is 26" from my shoulder. I would like the finished cardigan to be 29-30". This pattern just confuses me, yet I really like the finished result.

I sure would appreciate anything you can offer to help me out. Thank you very much.

You can draw out a diagram of the sweater and then add more length to the areas where you need to increase. It's helpful to see the outline before doing it.

Change the number of inches to suite your own at the bottom part before decrease and the top part before the armhole start.

Thank you for visiting and questioning.
