Fishnet st

Making a tank with circular needles. Pattern has sides of tank with fishnet st. It says work 8 rounds, knitting 2 more st sts on each side of the fishnet st every rs (eg k2 of 46, then k6 then k10. I am having a hard time reading this pattern. How do they come up with the knit 2 then 6 then 10 if you knit 2 more on every side of fishnet on every rs
