Hi,

"Knit 9 sts, turn and decrease 1 st at inside edge twice (7 sts)."

I'm assuming you're at the beginning of a new row and the inside edge would be at the 9th st.

First, k 9 sts. You'll now work back and forth on this 9 sts only. (it's to leave the rest of the sts on the needle.
Turn work so that your right needle is now on your left hand. Work next row as follow;
Next row: Dec 1 st at the beginning of the row and work to the end of the row. (8sts)
Next row: k 6, then k2tog. (7 sts remain)
Follow the rest of the instruction.

The chart above is showing how the dec should be like.

I hope this doesn't sound confusing.
