decreasing 10 stitches on both sides of my work

by Mary Northwood
(South Africa)

First of all I will decrease ten (10) stitches at the beginning of my row. How do I then decrease ten (10) stitches at the end of the same row? I cannot find a YouTube showing this with an even number of stitches. All YouTubes show this example with an uneven number of stitches.

Your help in this regard will be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
MARY NORTHWOOD

Decrease 10 stitches at both sides
by: Ratchadawan

Hi May,

Usually when we decrease many stitches on both sides we don't do it in the same row. You can decrease 10 sts at the end of the row by binding off but then you have to cut the yarn and join it when you start the next row.

So, this is why it's more practical to do decrease at the beginning of a row instead.

Instruction states do decrease at both ends and it doesn't mean you have to do it in the same row.

When decrease 1 stitch at both end, you can do it in the same row.

Thank you for your question and visit.

Ratcha
