Decreases in 9th and following 4th rows?

What does it mean as not sure how many rows to skip before performing the decrease again?

Pattern reads:
Cont in stocking st, dec 1 st each end of needle on the 9th and following 4th rows until there are 12 sts.

Decreases in 9th and following 4th rows?
by: Ratchadawan

Hi,

"Pattern reads:
Cont in stocking st, dec 1 st each end of needle on the 9th and following 4th rows until there are 12 sts."

This means to work 8 rows on stockinette stitch and then on the 9th row, work decrease 1 st at each end of the needle.

Then decrease again every following 4th rows, which would be rows 13, 17, 21, ... and so forth. Keep decreasing every 4th rows like this until you have 12 sts left on the needle. Then follow the rest of the instruction.

Thank you for the question. I hope you find this helpful.

Have a great one!
Ratcha
