Crochet edging on blanket

Hi all.

I want to crochet border on checkerboard st, blanket , would I use the same size crochet hook as needles I used to knit the blanket ?
The needles I used for knitting blanket are 4mm thank you!

Yes, I would use the same gauge crochet hook as knitting needle.
