confused with where to place markers

Hi

my pattern says to work until armholes measure 6", which i did and end up with 59 sts remaining, next it says to "PM on each side of centre (19) sts". I guess my question is do I just center on the 59 or continue dec until I get to 39 sts but then am over 6" armholes?

Hi Tammy,

You're at the point where you start a neck decrease. Place your marker first before moving on to the next step.
You place markers to mark the left and right of the neck decrease. You can place the first marker between the 20th and 21st stitches and the second one right after the 39th stitch. You should have 20 stitches on each side of each marker.

Now you can proceed to the next part of the instruction.
