casting off on alternate two rows?

shoulder shaping pattern says: Cast off 8 st at beg of next row on each side, then 7 at beg of foll 2 alt rows on each side


Could someone please explain this in more detail for me? I have done the first two rows OK, losing 16 stitches in total, but do I then dec 7 at beg of the very next two rows then miss the next two rows, then dec 7 at beg of next pair of rows? So a total of 30 stitches?

This means to cast off 7 sts at the beginning of every other rows 2 times or 2 following alternated rows

So you cast off 8 sts on first row.
Cast off 8 sts st, on second row.
Work even on 3th row.
Cast off 7 sts at the beginning of a row on 4th row.
Work even on 5th row.
Cast off 7 sts at beg of row on 6th row.
Work even on 7th row.
Cast off 7 sts at beg of row on 8th row.
Work even on 9th row.
Cast off 7 sts at beg of row on the 10 row

That should do it.
