casting off in pattern

The first 8 stitches in my pattern are K5, yfwd, sl1, K1, psso then K6 I have to cast off the first 8 stitches in pattern. please tell me how to deal with this.

Hi Gabrielle,

There is nothing much to worry in this pattern. Just bind off the first 8 sts on the left needle as usual and then continue with the rest of the pattern. Make sure to double check that you've bound off the correct number.
