Addi King, Addi Express question

by Ann
(Virginia)

I am looking to buy an Addi knitting machine. Can anyone tell me if I need to purchase both the Addi King and the Addi Express, or, if I can make everythig with the King one? Are there projects that require the smaller Addi Express? Thank you.

Addi King, Addi Express
by: Ratchadawan

Hi Ann,

The Addi King and Addi Express are both circular knitting machines, but they have some differences that may affect your choice based on the projects you have in mind.

Addi King:
Larger in size.
Typically used for larger projects such as blankets, scarves, and sweaters.
Knits with a thicker yarn.
Limited in terms of stitch count and may not be suitable for fine or intricate patterns.
Addi Express:
Smaller in size compared to the King.
Suitable for a wider range of projects, including smaller items like hats, socks, and toys.
Can handle finer yarn weights, giving you more versatility in your projects.
Offers a greater stitch count, allowing for more intricate patterns and designs.
If you're primarily interested in making larger projects and using thicker yarn, the Addi King might be sufficient for your needs. However, if you want the flexibility to work on a variety of projects, including smaller items with finer yarn, then having both machines could be beneficial.

Consider the types of projects you are most interested in and the yarn weights you prefer to work with. If you're unsure, starting with the Addi King and expanding your collection later based on your specific needs could be a good approach. Keep in mind that both machines are tools to complement your knitting skills, and the best choice depends on your individual preferences and the types of projects you envision working on.

Hope this help,
Ratcha
