Awesome Chunky Yarn Plush Pillow

Description: A decorative plush pillow made with a very soft chunky/jumbo yarn (yarn category 7) using jumbo needle size US 20mm.  It knit in stockinette st in a long panel and later joined together at both ends and side edges.

Gauge: About 1sts per inch

Dimension : It’s about 16” by 16”

I have never worked with a Jumbo needle and a chunky yarn before until this pillow came along.  The idea started out when my daughter wanted me to make her a throw for her bed using chunky yarn.  Before I get to the pillow, let’s me tell you a little bit about my yarn story and how a throw project had turned out to be a pillow instead!

So, we ordered the yarn from Wish, which is an online store that sell very affordable price product.  You may have seen it advertise on Facebook time to time. About a month later, the yarn arrived in a thick plastic shipping bag from China.  It contained 4 balls, which I thought it looked a little small for a 250gm ball of yarns. Then I checked the total weight on the shipping bag and I found that the whole thing weigh 250gm not 1000gm.  So, I only got 1 order out of 4 orders I placed. I contact the company to ship me the rest of my order. The company responded back with my full refund. I told them I wanted the yarn not the refund and I don’t want to pay shipping to return it.  They told me just keep the yarn. Well, that’s the story. So, that how we ended up with the pillow instead of the throw.

Mehousa provided me with a set of Circular Jumbo Needles to work on this project.

made a complete How To video for the pillow and you can watch it below if you want to see how I did it.  The video is in details because I mostly focus on Beginning Knitting.
