7 central stitches on a holder

by Carole
(Urmston, Manchester)

I have been told in the instructions to put 7 central stitches on a holder and then -
cast off 3 stitches at beg of next and foll alt row twice, work one row then cast off 5 stitches at beg of next row then work one row and cast off.

Am I supposed to put the remaining stitches across one needle and then work by going in front of the ones on the stitch holder?

Hi Carole,

After you place the 7 sts on the holder, you then work the rest of the sts to the end of the row.
You will need to join a new yarn to work the rest of the sts if the current yarn is located before the holder. If these 7 sts had been worked then the yarn should be right after the holder. In the last case, you can use the same yarn and work back and forth on this side only.

I hope this makes sense. Thank you for sharing your question with us.

Have a lovely day!

Ratcha
