With yarn in front how do I knit a stitch

Question

How do I do a knit stitch with the yarn in front? I keep getting more stitches so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Answer

You're not doing anything wrong. When we knit with yarn in front of work, we'll get an extra stitch from an eyelet ( an eyelet is formed when we bring yarn over the needle to wrap around the needle).

see yarn over knitting; https://www.to-knit-knitting-stitches.com/yarn-over.html

Thanks for the question and happy knitting!
