Trying to knit socks

Question

I would like to be able to knit socks. I started with 4 needles and got to the heel and got so mixed up I just didn't know what I was doing so I just put them away and now I would like to try again and wondered if you could help me.

I would love to help you but I'm not that great with socks. I keep forgetting how to do turn heels and so forth. I have to have instruction in front of me to remind myself how to do it.

Fortunately, there are many great videos on how to knit socks. You can search on youtube.com for "how to knit sock gusset" or "how to turn heel" something in that categories. Watch a few of them and try to get some general ideas of how the heels are made. I think this will help you better understand your pattern when you come back and read it again. Usually, the techniques are pretty much the same but differences in gauges and sizes.
