Puff Daddy Knitted Stool - A Garter Stitch Handknitted Norwegian Stool Pattern

by Audrey Zehner
(Pearl City, Hawaii)

Can you simplify this knitting pattern?
For a beginner, I really
would like to make one.

I would like to make one of these for my daughters nursery but I am dumbfounded when it comes to the directions. Is there any way someone can help me understand these directions? I am lost from "assemble the short sides" and on. . . here are the directions Thank you! if you could email me. Thanks again!

"Cast on 35 stitches using three threads.
Knit the garter stitch until you've knitted all the balls, and there is just enough yarn left to assemble the stool.

You now have ONE rectangular piece.
Cast off loosely.

Assemble the short sides (35 stitch side) as neatly as you can.

Assemble the first long side. This is supposed to be the top or the bottom of the stool. Put the needle through the end stitch of every second row and tighten, tighten, tighten! Repeat on the rows in between and tighten until there is no hole in the middle.

Stuff the duves into the stool. We tried to make a ball of the duves before we stuffed it.

Assemble the other end in the same manner as the first."

Puff Daddy Stool Knitting Pattern Direction - Simplify for beginning knitters
by: Ratcha

Audrey,

Thanks for stopping by my site.

The Puff Daddy Stool pattern you asked me to help with look like a fun project to knit.

I've never tried knitting a stool before but I'll try my best to help you simplify its pattern.

The direction basically said to assemble the short ends (35 stitches) together first. You do this by bringing the two ends together and sew these both ends with yarn as neatly as you can. And you'll end up with a big round band.

Next step is to thread a yarn along one of the long edges, (these will turn into top and bottom of the stool) every other stitches. Might want to do it twice to make it secure. When you done threading, pull the yarn as tight as you can and tight the yarn to secure.

Now you can stuff your pillow in there before secure the open edge the same way as the other end.

I think you can see the big picture by now. I'm sure you'll make a lovely one for your daughter.

Best wishes.
