Missed Slipping The First Stitch - Is there a way to fix it without ripping it apart?

by Bernice

I am knitting a simple scarf for the first time and i decided on the second row that i wanted nice straight edges so I started dropping the first stitch off but now on my first row of stitch (the cast on row) I have one stitch in the corner edge that is not dropped and that edge looks rounded due to the none slipped the first stitch and now I'm too far into the scarf to fix it. Is there a way to fix it after i finish the complete knitting of the scarf? I attached the picture of it.

Thank you

Hi Bernice,

I can't really see it well on the picture. It's a bit too dark.

The only way I can think of fixing this is to carefully unravel the cast on row and the first row. It is hard to unravel from the cast on side but it is manageable. Use a small needle to guide through each stitch before you rip it apart. You might have to cut the yarn off along the way because it will get tangled. After you're done unraveling, you can add yarn and bind this end off. You can add an extra row on your scarf before you bind off.

Good luck with your scarf and thanks for visiting.

Ratcha
