Lattice Stitch - Knitting Stitch Pattern Instruction

This is pattern is called "lattice stitch". The background is knitted in a stockinette stitch pattern (knit on the right side and purl on the wrong side) in combination with purl stitches arranging in diamond shapes. This is a great pattern for beginners to learn how to work with knit and purl combination.

Multiple of 6 + 1

Row 1 (right side): K3, *p1, k5; rep from * to last 4 sts, p1, k3.

Row 2: P2, *k1, p1, k1, p3; rep from * to last 5 sts, k1, p1, k1, p2.

Row 3: K1, *p1, k3, p1, k1; rep from * to end.

Row 4: K1, *p5, k1; rep from * to end.

Row 5: K1, *p1, k3, p1, k1; rep from * to end.

Row 6: P2, *k1, p1, k1, p3; rep from * to last 5 sts, k1, p1, k1, p2.

Repeat these 6 rows to form Lattice stitch.

Knitting Abbreviations used in these pattern:

K, k = knit

P, p = purl

rep = repeat

sts = stitches
