How do I ktbl?

by Jill Zellmer

I knit in a strange way When I am knitting stockinette I always pick up my knit stitches from the back. I am starting a new shawl and it had ktbl in the instructions . This is suppose to be a twisted stitch. If I'm already knitting in the back stitch, how do I make ktbl a twisted stitch? I live in a small town, no knitting help. I would appreciate if someone could help me.

ktbl (knit to back loop)

Hi Jill,

This is interesting! I wouldn't change anything because you're already twist stitches when you knit. So when you get to the point where it says ktbl, you can just ignor it. I don't think trying to twist the stitch twice will look good.

Another option is to start this project by knitting in the usual way (knit from the front loop). This is going to be hard on you having to change the way you knit.

If anyone else have any suggestion, please join in here. We'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thank you,

Ratcha
