How do I end a piece?
Is it casting off?

Can you explain to me how to end a piece of knitting??? I have knitted enough rows, so it's finished now. How do I end it?

Thanks,

Emer.

Answer

Hi Emer,

Thanks for the question. Yes, you're right. Casting off or Binding Off is the knitting method used when finishing a piece.

You casting off by knitting the first stitch, then second stitch and then lift the first knitted stitch over the second one and slip it off the needle. Continue casting of the same way until the end. Cut yarn and run it through the loop and pull to secure.

You can go to Casting Off to see my knitting illustration and instruction.

Thanks again, Emer for visiting.
Have a wonderful day and Happy Holidays to you and other visitor as well.
