Does my pattern have to be symmetrical to be reversible scarf?

I am making a reversible scarf and I was wondering if the pattern had to be symmetrical in order for it to be right on both sides?

Answer

Hi Alli,

You don't have to have the same pattern to make a reversible scarf. What make a reversible scarf fun is the uniqueness on each side. Two totally different looks in one.

The most important thing to remember is to knit the same number of stitches on each side, so that they turn out evenly. Add extra stitches at border to make up the differences.

Thanks Alli for your question. Have fun with your reversible scarf. Come back and share your photo with us when you're done with it.
